Syracuse University Office of Campus Planning, Design and Construction seeks Architect (Designer III)
New York State Registration is required
Responsibilities include:
·        Conducts client interviews building site surveys, programming, space planning, and design analysis utilizing and fluency in building code and regulatory requirements.
·        Prepares feasibility studies, utilizing alternative solutions and evaluating based on multiple factors including space, cost, code restrictions and functionality.
·        Perform design services in a broad range of facility types and usages; including academic space such as auditoria, seminar rooms, and classrooms, historic preservation, research laboratories, administrative space, healthcare/wellness, visual and performing arts, residence facilities, dining facilities, etc.
·        Prepares plans and specifications for major construction and remodeling/renovation projects.
·        Provide design guidance and detailed expertise in a wide range of areas from building envelope, door hardware, and the integration of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
·        Presents design concepts to campus clients including SU Academic and Executive Leadership, and refine designs based on leadership feedback.
·        Provides project budget and schedule estimates to clients, and execute projects within those established budget and schedule limits.
·        Represents CPDC Senior Staff at project meetings with Deans and Departments Heads.
·        Collaborates with supervisor for broad conceptual direction only.
·        Performs construction administration in collaboration with Sr. Project Managers and Construction Managers / General Contractors
·        Employs invention, imagination, and creative problem solving skills

The Office of Campus Planning, Design, and Construction of Syracuse University is seeking to hire an Interior Designer.

The Designer is a professional staff position requiring specialized skills and advanced knowledge. The ideal candidate is expected to works both independently and in a team environment, with responsibilities including:

• Conduct client interviews and building site surveys, programming, space planning, and design analysis

• Prepare feasibility studies, utilizing alternative solutions and creative thinking

• Create interior design solutions and specifications for both smaller and multi-million dollar building projects

• Present design concepts to campus clients including SU Academic and Executive Leadership

• Provides budget estimates for campus planning and must execute designs within established budget and time frames

• Collaborate with supervisor for broad conceptual direction only

• Collaborate with SU Purchasing on the bidding and procurement of finishes and furnishing for multi-million dollar construction projects, has working knowledge of established vendor pricing agreements and SU Purchasing contracts and relationships

• Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers’ representatives for furnishing and finish materials

• Strong knowledge of furniture systems

• Employ invention, imagination, and creative problem solving skills

• Building signage and graphic design expertise

Minimum qualifications include:
-A five year Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited institution
-Five years of work experience in architecture
-Accepted and currently participating in the NCARB/IDP
-Prior experience providing training or instruction in the Architecture field 
-Active participation in professional and community organizations
-Knowledge and enthusiasm about design, construction technology, sustainability and resiliency issues

INTERIOR DESIGNER - Ashley McGraw Architects
 
We are looking for an Interior Designer, with 2+ years experience and a sincere
passion for sustainable design, to join our team.  This position is integrated into the
project team from the beginning of the project, with involvement in programming
and schematic design through construction administration.  Responsibilities include
conceptual design, space planning, material research and finish selection, furniture
and casework design, production of construction documents, and administration of
the project through construction phases.  The successful candidate will have, in
addition to a superior aesthetic sensibility, strong technical proficiency in Revit, a
knowledge of interior detailing and specification writing, and excellent interpersonal
and communication skills.  The ability to function successfully in a collaborative work
environment is required.  Familiarity with sustainable practices, knowledge of
applicable building codes, and the ability to coordinate work with multiple disciplines
are preferred assets, as are LEED accreditation and NCIDQ certification. You should
also bring to the job a good sense of humor, a desire for learning, willingness to push
the boundaries of convention in problem solving, and have polished client
presentation skills.
