Explorer Post

The goal of the Architectural Explorer Post is to introduce high school students who are considering Architecture as a future career to workshops and discussions that explain various responsibilities an architect performs.  With the cooperation of local institutions such as Syracuse University, Bryant and Stratton College, the CNY AIA, and volunteers from several local architecture offices the program offers a broad exposure to the architectural profession and provides an opportunity for the student to make an informed decision before making a commitment for college.

The program is open to all students who are at least high school freshmen at the time of enrollment.  We cooperate with local schools and guidance counselors for referrals.  However, students and guidance counselors may also contact the AIA CNY directly to express interest.  Typically, the workshops are scheduled in the Fall of the school year for approximately 8 sessions.  The fee is typically a one time cost of $35 to enroll.
